Mental Health/Social Work

The Mental Health Program is a community based program, providing a range of mental health programs and services that address mental health promotion and education, and counseling support.   The program provides for comprehensive approach, including western and holistic healing approaches.  Collaborates with community based programs and external service linkages.  Community based programs include: Community Health Nurses, NNADAP, Education, Home and Community Care, Healthy Babies Healthy Children.  Mental health services are provided by a Registered Social Worker.

Mental Health Services include:

• individual, family and group counseling
• parent and youth counseling
• western and holistic healing approach
• case management
• counseling services to address relationships, depression, stress management, self-esteem,
• referrals
• advocacy
• social skills
• crisis or trauma counseling support – Critical Incident Stress Management, Suicide Intervention
• school presentations – ie antibullying
