“It is the desire and long term goal of the Onyota’a:ka Family Healing Lodge to strengthen, enhance and promote a “Ukwehuwe” wholistic approach to healing. By planting a seed of knowledge to develop personal initiatives and solutions to end the cycle of violence for themselves and future generations.”
The Lodge will respectfully provide a safe and supportive atmosphere for individuals and families, while offering guidance and education of the effect which violence has on all parts of our being.

All Nations are welcome to follow along the path of peace to join as one under the branches of the Great Tree of Peace
The OFHL will only accept for residency those individuals who qualify under the mandate of: Individuals/families (male/remale) who are at risk of or involved in a family violent situation.
Aboriginal people have defined family violence as “a consequence to colonization, forced assimilation, and cultural genocide; the learned negative, cumulative, multi-generational actions, values, beliefs, attitudes and behavioural patterns practiced by one or more people that weaken or destroy the harmony and well-being of an aboriginal individual, family, extended family, community or nationhood” (Maracle & Craig, For Generations to Come: The Time is Now (1993).
