Oneida Employment and Training Services:
Self Employment Assistance

• To provide clients with financial support during the start up of a business.
• Support would be to assist the client in meeting obligations for his/her family.

Targeted Wage Subsidy

• To provide training and/or work experience.
• Opportunity to re-enter the labour force through an employer who is able to provide the necessary environment to prove he/she would be an asset to the company.
• To gain skills and experience to become a valued employee.

New Start Assistance

• Assist workers who are unemployed and require assistance or access to the new job.

Skills Development/Training

• Assist clients who require assistance to overcome labour market barriers by arranging a variety of training courses in public or private institutions.

Youth Initiatives

• Encourage young people to complete high school.
• Help students make transition from school to work.

Disability Initiative

• Assist persons with disabilities’ access to employment or employment services by providing personal support.

Additional Services

• Assistance with resumes and cover letters.
• Access to phone, fax, and photocopier for employment search activities.
